The New York Auto Show is postponed due to the coronavirus scare. Organizers for the show announced this on Tuesday. They said in a tweet that their top priority is making sure everyone involved is healthy and safe.
2020 New York Auto Show Rescheduled
We recently wrote an article about the vehicles being shown there on April 8th; however, they are now planning to hold the show in August 2020. At the time, we do not have an exact date.
The show promoters said to check their social pages often for more info on when the event will be held. This 10-day show produces over $330 million for economic benefit.
The coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, has infected over 800 people just in the US and 29 have died. Worldwide the coronavirus has infected at least 118,000 and killed over 4,200. We also hear new states and countries talking about their first victims of this sickness every day.
Brief History of NY Auto Show
The New York International Auto Show is an event that has been held every year since 1900. It is now held in the Javits Center, but from 1956 to 1987, it was run in the New York Coliseum.
Right before the show opens auto companies get ready to reveal new production items or concept vehicles for the world to see. They usually open the show the weekend before Easter.
