Just yesterday we talked about the Complete Lineup of 2020 All-New Cars. Today, we are going to dive deeper into the 2020 Redesigned Cars. Not every vehicle hitting the market is brand new. Some simply have some updates that make them look new.

Let’s see what to expect in the upcoming year.

BMW 7 Series

The most luxurious model from BMW is getting a full makeover. The 7 Series sedan is going into its sixth generation with an updated engine, state-of-the-art technology and fresh design. It has a broader kidney grille, a 335-horsepower straight-six and optional twin-turbo V8 pumping out 523 horsepower. There’s also a V12 with 600 horsepower available. If you want hybrid action, that’s coming too.

Genesis G90

While we are discussing luxury, let’s look at the Genesis brand. The updated G90 is one of the highest-ranking large cars right now. They aren’t planning to change the engine options, but the interior features have been updated. There are now 20-way adjustable seats, noise-canceling technology and a passenger knee airbag available.

Hyundai Sonata

On the value side, we have the midsize Sonata sedan. Heading into the eighth-generation, the Sonata features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder pumping out 191 horsepower. That’s an increase by six horsepower. There’s also a turbocharged option, both of which pair to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The interior is stunning with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch HD screen and Hyundai’s BlueLink Multimedia system.

Kia Soul

While the redesign of the Soul doesn’t do much for the exterior, there are now two new trims. You have the option between the GT-Line for sportiness and the X-Line to gain some rugged features. It also comes powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that has an output of 147 horsepower. If you need more, choose the 1.6-liter turbo inline-four instead with 201 horsepower. As far as specs, the Soul added two inches to the length and one inch to the wheelbase.

Mazda3

Heading into the fourth generation is the Mazda3. It has an updated chassis, newly available engine, more power plus the option to add all-wheel drive. Its base engine is the 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 186 horsepower. There’s also the new Skyactiv-X that comes with a supercharged 2.0-liter inline-four, expected to output 190 horsepower. Estimates assume this will reduce fuel consumption by 30%.

Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe

At first thought, you probably notice that this isn’t actually a coupe. That’s true – this model has four doors and is bigger than the previous model. It features a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with 221 horsepower. Four-wheel drive is also standard. The new CLA comes with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) Interior Assistant to make driving more enjoyable than ever before.

Nissan Versa

The Versa hasn’t received a redesign since 2012. It hopes to improve its reputation with a new 1.6-liter four-cylinder that releases 122 horsepower. That’s a significant improvement from the previous 109 horsepower. It also contains some new technology such as automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, high-beam assist and lane departure warning.

Porsche 911

Can they make the Porsche 911 any better? The answer is yes! This iconic sports car has more technology and a boost in power. It’s also been widened in the rear and front. Just check out the massive 20-inch wheels up front with the larger 21-inch monsters in the rear. Enjoy the 443-horsepower turbo six-cylinder engine for a spirited ride.

Subaru Legacy

The Legacy was in dire need of a revamp. It now comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 182 horsepower. If that’s not enough, opt for the 2.4-liter turbo four-cylinder that outputs 260 horsepower instead. Inside the cabin, users receive the 11.6-inch infotainment system, a rearview camera and HD radio.

Toyota Corolla Sedan

The hatchback version of the Corolla was just done last year, so it was time for the sedan. They will share the same platform and overall design. There’s also a multitude of new standard safety features included. The base engine wasn’t upgraded, but there’s the option to add a 2.0-liter four that pumps out 169 horsepower.

Now that we are coming into fall, it’s time to start thinking about the new cars of 2020. We are starting a series of upcoming vehicles, beginning with the complete lineup of 2020 all-new cars. Here are some models that will be brand-new for this model year.

Cadillac CT5

The American automaker isn’t new to rolling out vehicles. It introduced the XT4 subcompact last year and the XT5 SUV in 2017. Plus, in 2016, we saw the arrival of the CT6. This upcoming year, we get the CT5 small luxury car. It has a fastback design and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder pumping out 237 horsepower. If you want more power, there’s also a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder with an output of 335 horsepower.

Inside the cabin is where the luxury truly shines. It has a ten-inch infotainment system with touchscreen. It also recognizes individual driver settings and conforms the controls to suit the driver. Safety equipment is abundant and this model features Super Cruise, which allows for hands-free driving on many highways.

Ford Bronco

While not technically one of the 2020 all-new cars, it is back after a long break. This iconic nameplate was gone for more than two decades. The Ford Bronco is a contemporary balance between the early off-roader and today’s conventional SUV.

It’s meant to battle the Jeep Wrangler, so expect it to have plenty of off-road gear. We hope it contains a removable top in both its two or four-door configurations. It’s supposed to have the same powertrain as the Ranger, which would mean a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that pumps out 270 horsepower.

Polestar 1

Volvo turned the Polestar lineup into a brand of its own. The first vehicle is the two-door plug-in hybrid coupe. It was first a concept car back in 2013. This model has a gas engine with two electric motors. A third motor is directly connected to the engine. Altogether, it’s looking at 600 horsepower with a mind-blowing 737 lb-ft of torque.

Its electric range is 93 miles, which doesn’t compete to an all-electric car but is still impressive. With the carbon fiber design, the weight is 500 pounds less than with typical aluminum and steel bodies.

Polestar 2

The second vehicle to come from the brand would be the Polestar 2. This five-door fastback features a 78 kWh battery pack that pairs to the motors for a total of 408 horsepower. This design provides a range totaling 275 miles and allows for all-wheel drive.

What’s exceptional about this car is the vegan interior materials. With the “phone as key” configuration, users simply need a smartphone to operate their vehicles.

Porsche Taycan

We first saw the Porsche Taycan during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show when it was just the Mission E concept. Now, this all-electric Porsche will be the first in the company’s lineup. There will be two battery options, with three various power outputs. Expect it to produce 402 to 670 horsepower, depending on the configuration.

We are also looking at a 310-mile range on the best model. We should see more from this vehicle at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show.

Tesla Roadster

The Telsa Roadster was first introduced in 2017. It’s become the benchmark for most electric vehicles. We expect that the Roadster will go from zero to 60 mph in under two seconds. It should also have a 620-mile range.

Of course, it’s going to cost a lot to get behind the wheel – at least $200k. What’s most surprising is that this supercar has four seats.

Toyota Supra

The Toyota Supra is back after a 21-year hiatus. It’s produced alongside the BMW Z4 in Germany. This sports car even has a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine that pumps out 335 horsepower. That won’t be enough to rival the Corvette with its 455 horsepower.

Aside from the mechanics, this car received help from BMW in several other areas. It also features BMW’s iDrive controller and touchscreen. With a lower price tag, it might be the smarter option.

The Rapide E will accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in less than four seconds. Its top speed has been clocked at 155 mph. The battery, meanwhile, will range over 200 miles on a single charge. The price of the Aston Martin Rapide E will be about $260,000.

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray looks mean. It seems a lot more exotic and wild than its predecessors. It has removable roof panels that can be placed in the trunk. Plus, it comes standard with a 6.2-liter V8 engine, displayed underneath a transparent panel. The engine churns out 490 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. of torque. This beast comes with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Inside, there are displays with 12 driving modes to choose from. Handling has been improved and suspension can be adjusted by the driver. The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray comes in at a not-so-mean price of under $60,000.

McLaren GT

The GT in McLaren GT stands for grand tourer. While a sports car can drive amazingly, comfort is sometimes sacrificed. A grand tourer, however, combines both performance and comfort. The McLaren GT has a carbon fiber framework, with aluminum panels. Plus, the interior has elegance and functionality. The first thing you probably will notice is the elaborate infotainment system, with lots of technological innovations. A new McLaren GT comes with a 4.0L V8 engine, boasting 612 hp and 465 lb-ft. of torque. It will go from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and tops out at 203 mph. The cost of the McLaren GT is $210,000.

Porsche Taycan

This luxury automaker is very good at creating unique, amazing sports cars. The 2020 Taycan is no exception. It is Porsche’s first electric vehicle. It offers four doors and is full of Porsche style. Its two motors pump out plenty of power. The Taycan will accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in 3.5 seconds. Porsche has advanced its electric technology, as well. The Taycan should run over 300 miles on a single charge. It also can gain 60 more miles of range in just four minutes of charging.

Tesla Roadster

The fully-electric Tesla Roadster already has quite a fan base. It is sure to gain more fans in 2020. This car combines a unique Tesla style with outstanding performance and handling. It comes with a removable clear roof panel. Tesla has said that the Roadster will be the world’s fastest car. It will go from zero to sixty miles per hour in an astounding 1.9 seconds! Its top speed will be 250 mph. Equally impressive is its expected range on a single charge: 620 miles. The Tesla Roadster is expected to start at a lofty price of $200,000.

It has more room than the Forte, which is suitable for long drives home on the weekend. Standard safety features include pre-collision warning plus lane departure alerts.

If you want your teen to save more money, you might consider holding out for the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid instead. It features 30/38 mpg.

2019 Hyundai Tucson ($23,200)

The Tucson also received a five-star rating from the NHTSA and is a good option for someone that wants a crossover. Cargo space is ample and the ride is quiet. It’s even possible to add all-wheel drive for just a little more. Some standard safety features include lane-keeping assist and forward collision avoidance. Add the 360-degree surround view monitor if you want further protection.

Teens enjoy the other standard aspects such as the seven-inch touchscreen, a wireless charging pad and voice activation. If you feel this is just too much to spend, consider opting for the Kona SUV instead (there’s also an electric model).

It wasn’t that long ago we published our 2019 Hybrid Car Lineup and felt it was time to show love to crossovers and SUVs as well. We put together a list of nine 2019 Hybrid SUV & Crossover models you can buy right now.

Acura MDX Sport Hybrid (27 mpg)

The MDX Sport Hybrid comes with an electric motor and V6 engine. The electrical component powers the front axle while two other motors drive rear wheels. It’s like having an NSX supercar, just backward.

Audi Q8 (19 mpg)

The 2019 Q8 contains a mild hybrid system with the 48-volt electrical setup and motor/generator connected to the engine crankshaft. When the driver accelerates, the turbo V6 receives additional help from the electric motor. Other times, it merely operates as a generator to replenish the battery.

Jeep Wrangler JL eTorque (24 mpg)

It’s no surprise that Lexus is a leader in hybrid crossovers and SUVs this year. This model is one of the most fuel-efficient in the lineup. We also love the styling and class it offers.

Lexus RX 450h (30 mpg)

This is the smaller version of the RX450hL and it comes with better gas mileage (not by much). It also features a superior suspension and quiet ride.

Lexus RX450hL (29 mpg)

This three-row Lexus is a luxury SUV that features every comfort you might want. It’s one of the only options if you need extra seats, high class and a hybrid powertrain.

Lexus UX250h (39 mpg)

The last Lexus hybrid in our list is the UX250h. It’s a subcompact SUV that provides a comfortable suspension and quick steering. Just watch out for those small rear seats.

Nissan Rogue Hybrid (33 mpg)

This two-row hybrid has a well-appointed interior and seems just like the gas-powered version. The only difference is the 40hp electric motor paired to the 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 141 hp. Sadly, the Rogue Hybrid won’t return in 2020.

Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid (25 mpg)

The Cayenne features an electric motor that helps, but the goal is to still operate like a Porsche. This SUV contains 455 horsepower, so expect to pay a pretty penny for it, especially since that’s more than the non-hybrid model.

Toyota Highlander Hybrid (29 mpg)

If you want a three-row hybrid SUV, but don’t want to splurge on a Lexus, try the Highlander instead. It’s going to run more than the gasoline version, but many people think it’s worth it.

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (39 mpg)

For the 2019 model year, the RAV4 lineup was redesigned, but they still included the hybrid format. It offers superior performance and exceptional fuel mileage.

Did you know that it’s National Stick Shift Day? Despite vehicles such as the Ram 2500 giving up their manual transmissions, you still have some options in 2019. Motor Trend keeps an ongoing list for reference and we’ve picked out top ten for your consideration.

BMW 2 Series

It’s possible to order this small sport coupe with a manual option. The downside is, you can’t get a retractable roof or all-wheel drive if you go this route. But, take a look at the M2 which automatically defaults to the six-speed as standard equipment.

Chevrolet Camaro

Up until now, Chevy continues to offer the manual transmission with every trim level, whether you want the four-cylinder convertible or the ZL1 1LE. By the way, you can also get it on a Corvette.

Dodge Challenger

This muscle car comes with a manual option but only paired to a V8. If you want the V6 Challenger GT with all-wheel-drive, you are out of luck. Maybe you should opt for the Hellcat Widebody with a six-speed instead.

Ford Mustang

While we are talking about muscle cars, let’s not forget about the Mustang. You can pick from the EcoBoost to a GT Convertible and everything in between. Even the Shelby GT350 and Bullitt only come with a manual transmission.

Genesis G70

The Genesis G70 has been on the radar of many drivers looking for a slice of luxury. The perk is that the 2.0-liter turbo-four has the manual transmission as an option.

Honda Civic & Accord

Both of Honda’s popular car models allow for the manual option. The beautiful thing is that there are several engine choices available as well.

Jeep Compass

On an entry-level Compass Sport, you can opt for a six-speed manual. This helps to alleviate some of the slow-shifting complaints this SUV is riddled with.

Mazda MX-5 Miata

This lightweight roadster is a rare breed today. Why would you even want one without a manual transmission? You can get it with every trim level and it helps to keep the cost down.

Nissan Frontier

It’s harder and harder to find a truck with a stick shift. Of course, you can’t get it with every trim, but there are four or six-cylinder options available.

Toyota Yaris

If you drive stick shift to reduce costs, then this little baby might be right for you. It only features 106 horsepower, but you will save over $1,000 versus opting for an automatic. It might not have all the bells and whistles, but it will get you from Point A to Point B just fine.
