Later this year, we will finally get the chance to own a 2020 GMC Sierra HD for ourselves. It sits in the heavy-duty truck class, but it offers something that the other companies don’t have quite yet. In fact, while towing, it might seem that everything behind you merely disappears.

Both the 2500 and the 3500 will offer a 360-degree camera system. These give the impression that you can see right through your trailer for additional safety on the road. It works in conjunction with a wired camera mounted on the back of your trailer. This sends a feed to your dashboard display and gets stitched with the tailgate view to give you a clear outline of what’s behind you.
There are actually fifteen possible views that this system offers. There’s even an option to put one camera inside your trailer so you can keep an eye on any animals and cargo during your travels.
Other GM Sierra HD Specs
These new trucks from GM feature stronger, bigger frames than ever before. We don’t know everything related to the gas engine yet, but there will be an optional 6.6-liter Duramax diesel option. This produces 445 horsepower plus 910 pound-feet of torque.
The tow rating is going to be larger than the current Sierra HD’s 30,000-pound capability, but we don’t have exact figures on that yet. This is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission.
There are also several trims to choose from. You have the work trims, the luxury Denali plus the AT4 we told you about last year. Just like with the Sierra 1500, the AT4 features an off-road suspension, specially-tuned traction management system, locking rear differential plus some special styling touches.
Another notable option will be the MultiPro Tailgate. Open this tailgate six varying ways for a multitude of access and cargo carrying needs.
